Lock up your boy dolls!

Before and after pics - I'm proud of this waif:

I had to scrub her with straight bleach, fix a few stitches and touch up her make up a bit, and yes, I had to finish the bad haircut by shaving her head!

But apart from the dirt and the hair cut she is actually in pretty good condition. I haven't attached the wig yet, it's just sitting there. Thanks to Erin for the complete outfit (my early birthday present). I don't know yet if it will stay on this doll but the colours are perfect for her.

Edit: I just re-read and it looks like I shaved off her long hair! This is not the case. She came to me with a short haircut which I finished off with a shave as it was unsaveable. I then added the long wig. The pic with the clothes and long hair is what she looks like now!

Here 'tis

Tonight's Lunar Eclipse

We drove up to Gumeracha and stood on the hospital grounds because it's a bit higher. Here is a collage of my moon pics in order :o) . The first one has a bit of tree branch in it but then we moved to higher ground. At 7.32pm when the total eclipse occurred, the local CFS siren went off just in case anyone missed it! The boys thought that was very cool.

The boys also lay on the ground and looked at stars.

We spent some time listening for animals (ie: We are outside a country hospital at night, please be quiet!) and imagining pictures in the moon (a pudding with icing, a smiley face with a hat). When the total eclipse happened, we hopped in the car and drove home in time to see it exactly at it's peak; unfortunately my camera couldn't even see it at that time.

Updates on stuff

The water creatures: the chick has stopped growing and I think the alien has too. His foot keeps popping out of the water, but I think that's due to the water evaporating, not the alien growing.

The Holden blimp has been out and about, and last weekend flew very low over my house. Judging from it's underside (second pic), it's a boy! A Holden employee told me today that this is the first blimp with that type of TV screen in the world, so Holden gets lots of money from using it.

It's Book Week in schools this week. The reception classes at our school had to dress as pirates for the parade, to fit in with their sea theme. The rest of the kids could choose any character who appears in a book, which means they could pretty much dress as anything. Liam of course chose Spiderman, despite the fact we have a veritable smorgasbord of other costumes. He nearly went as a mechanic but the outfit was too small - "AAAGGHH! It gives me a wedgie when I zip it up!!". Check out EJ's facial wound from some other swashbuckler:

And just to keep everyone happy
for a while, here's my current lounge room. I haven't got many house pics to share as the house is still a mess. Mathematical genius me has found that "big house doesn't fit in small house" and I just can't find places to put everything. Thanks to mum for the housewarming rug:

Hetch the aig, Monty!

So I've unofficially named Liam's water chick "Monty", since EJ added his egg to the bowl. Here he is adding it yesterday:

You can see how much Monty has grown too.

This morning it had already started hatching:

And tonight it's already made more progress:

I know how that egg feels. Can eggs have epidurals?

Apart from that the only news is moving house ...still... no pics yet until it looks decent!
